CIRCULAR

ADJUSTING AND SUPPLEMENTING CIRCULAR NO.21/1998/TT-BTM OF DECEMBER 24, 1998 WHICH GUIDES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REGULATION ON DUTY-FREE SHOPS

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Regulation on duty-free shops issued together with Decision No.205/1998/QD-TTg of October 19, 1998 of the Prime Minister;
Pursuant to the Ministry of Health
’s Official Dispatch No.5739/YT-QLD of August 23, 1999 on the cosmetics sold at duty-free shops;
The Ministry of Trade adjusts and supplements its Circular No.21/1998/TT-BTM of December 24, 1998 guiding the implementation of the Regulation on duty-free shops as follows:

1. To amend Point 2.2 of Item II on the goods sold at the duty-free shops as follows:

Goods subject to conditional export and import, excluding cosmetics of various kinds on the list of goods quality-controlled by the Ministry of Health.

2. To supplement Clause 4, Item III, as follows:

For cosmetic items on the list of goods subject to quality control by the Ministry of Health which are imported for sale at duty-free shops, in cases where they are allowed to be sold on the domestic market their quality must be registered at the Ministry of Health as stipulated for cosmetic goods imported for sale on Vietnam’s domestic market.

3. Other provision as of Circular No.21/1998/TT-BTM of December 24, 1998 of the Ministry of Trade remain to be effective.
