In recent times, some enterprises and units have imported goods containing images and information about the “Nine-dash line" for business or exhibitions. These cases are highly serious occurrences that affect Vietnam’s national security and sovereignty and violate existing regulations of laws.
In order to promptly handle and prevent similar incidents, the Ministry of Industry and Trade hereby requests the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance and Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces to perform the following tasks:
1. Increase ex officio inspection of activities of the industry and trade sector in provinces such as manufacture; commerce, export-import, e-commerce, trade promotion, protection of consumer’s rights, etc. to promptly detect and strictly handle images and information about the “Nine-dash line” and other images and information that affect national security and sovereignty and violate applicable regulations of laws.
2. Inform and recommend enterprises in provinces to proactively review the information and features of their imports and products to avoid importing or trading goods containing images and/or information about the “Nine-dash line” and other images and information that affect national security and sovereignty or violate applicable regulations of laws.
3. Cooperate with relevant competent units in raising the awareness of people and consumers in provinces, encouraging them not to buy or use goods containing images and information about the "Nine-dash line" and other contents that affect national security and sovereignty or violate applicable regulations of laws, and to promptly report such goods to competent authorities./.
