DECISION
ON PETROLEUM BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government of September 30, 1992;
At the proposal of the Director of the Government Pricing Committee in Reports No. 535/BVGCP of June 21, 2000 and No. 559/BVGCP-TLSX of June 28, 2000; considering the comments made by the concerned ministries and branches at the meeting on petroleum business of June 21, 2000,
DECIDES:
Article 1.- As from July 12, 2000, the maximum retail price for common car gasoline of 4,8000/liter; the wholesale price for fuel oil of 2,300/kg shall apply.
The Government Pricing Committee shall coordinate with the Ministry of Trade in guiding and organizing the implementation of above-mentioned price adjustment..
Article 2.- The Ministry of Trade shall assign Vietnam Petroleum Corporation to import gasoline and oil so as to basically satisfy the basic demand therefor in service of domestic production and consumption according to schedule. The Ministry of Finance shall supervise and promptly settle the difficulties regarding capital for the units tasked to import gasoline and oil. The Vietnam State Bank shall direct the commercial banks to fully and promptly satisfy demands for foreign currency(ies)to pay for the import of gasoline and oil by enterprises.
Article 3.- This Decision takes effect as from July 12, 2000. The ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the agencies attached to the Government and the presidents of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities shall have to implement this Decision.
